Since La Colonica opened in 2002, it has had guests from all over the United Kingdom, as well as from France, Germany, The Netherlands, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and other countries.  Every single guest is special to us.  Through them, this lovely house has come alive again.  Below are entries from our Visitors’ Book.

• Our dream holiday to Italy has met all our high expectations.  Beautiful scenery, lovely weather, good food and wine. The highlight of our holiday has to be our stay at La Colonica – the lovely touches, roses in the room, wine on the patio etc.  Our stay a pleasure.  We shall always remember this holiday for years to come.

• It has been a privilege to spend our special double birthday week with you. La Colonica sounded and looked too good to be true – where’s the catch, we said?  There’s no catch – it has far exceeded our expectations.  The house radiates a style and elegance always sought but seldom found.  Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality – we look forward to our next visit! 

• We have had a wonderful time here, and certainly hope to return, as we feel we have barely touched on what this beautiful area has to offer.  La Colonica is very special.  Thank you for your kindness and friendliness, not to mention wine and roses, teas and coffees and great breakfasts!  Our fellow guests have added to our enjoyment of a delightful few days.

• Our first visit to Tuscany – to Italy in fact. Let’s hope it isn’t the last! We love your home, your countryside, your weather, your food, your hospitality and not least your friendship and your dogs. We came needing peace and relaxation and we found it at La Colonica.  May you be successful in your wonderful B&B – but not so successful that you are fully booked when we want to return!!! PS Thank you also for the lovely flowers in our room!

• A wonderful two weeks stay to celebrate 40 years together. The accommodation was all we hoped it would be and a perfect place to explore this beautiful area and friendly people. Thank you for the wine/tea and coffee treats etc., and for the excellent itinerary.  We will return.  Thank you for creating this Tuscan haven.  PS Let’s hope the rains come for the olives and the roses!

• The warmth of the Tuscan sunshine was surpassed by the La Colonica hospitality! A beautiful and elegant house with a very high standard of comfort. A perfect base for exploring the historic grandeur of Assisi and Cortona, the treasures of Florence and the mountains of Umbria – just to name a few examples. • When we were planning this trip we had an “idea” of the accommodation we wanted – how lucky we have been with the choice.  After a week here we have found many “back roads” in our attempts to return home the same way we departed!  The highlight of the experience has to be hearing “Nabucco” in the Cortona Piazza!!

• Sadly our last day.   It has been a very memorable week, and neither myself nor my husband have experienced anything quite like it! We appreciated the wonderful hospitality and will miss the beauty of our surroundings here.  You have a beautiful home here. It was a memorable week for us visiting Siena, Assisi, Pienza, Cortona etc. and seeing the awe-inspiring churches and paintings.
